veterans day assembly speaker

Captain Garrett Kasper will be our featured guest speaker at the Annual Veterans Day Assembly, sponsored by the Middle School Student Council. This annual event is a wonder yearly display of our community's patriotism and appreciation for our Veterans service. The event will be held in the High School Gym on Friday, November 10th at 9am. Doors will open around 8:15am.

Captain Garrett Kasper (also known as Ms. Kasper’s dad) has served in the Navy for more than 27 years, in a variety of high-visibility communications jobs around the globe. As a Public Affairs Officer, he has conducted more than 500 media embarkations during operations in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq. He has also served as the Public Affairs Officer for the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower. And, in 2005, he was hand-picked to become a member of the Navy’s elite Blue Angels flight demonstration squadron. In 2020, as a Navy Reservist, he was deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. After returning home to the U.S., he resumed his Reserve service as the Chief of Public Affairs for U.S. Southern Command in Miami, Florida. He has been awarded two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, a Navy
Meritorious Service Medal, five Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, three Navy Achievement Medals and various other unit and personal awards.


In his civilian career, Garrett is an award-winning Public Relations executive with an extensive background in biotechnology, aerospace, defense, and healthcare industries. He is currently the Director of Communications for Cybersecurity at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency in St. Louis.
