Due to hazardous traveling conditions and the forecast of more inclement weather, Scott City R-1 has postponed the February Board of Education meeting and rescheduled it for February 24th.
**The February Board of Education meeting will have a special start time of 3:30 P.M.**
From Superintendent Umfleet:
Parent/Teacher conferences are an integral part in your child’s educational development. The communication between teachers and parents is vital in getting students to reach their highest level. Keeping parents informed and involved in their child’s educational process is a priority at Scott City R-1. However, our spring conferences scheduled for February 25, are going to look a lot different from past conferences. We are going to limit the amount of people in our building in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We are encouraging conferences be done through phone calls, emails, and Google Meets (similar to ZOOM). Teachers will be available from February 10 through February 24 to accommodate the “virtual conference” schedule. We do understand there may need to be an in-person meeting between the parent and teacher.
If you are scheduled to meet with a teacher face-to-face, we are requiring you to wear a mask while you are in the building.
Mid-quarter reports for third quarter ends will be emailed on February 19. Upon receiving mid-quarter, email the teachers with your concerns or praises.
Due to the COVID pandemic, the following guidelines will be in place for our home athletic events until further notice. These guidelines will help ensure that our athletes are able to participate in athletic events throughout the season in the safest manner possible. Please be aware that these guidelines may be changed at any given time so that our athletes, coaches, fans and community can be provided with the safest environment possible.
