From Superintendent Michael Umfleet:

Parent/Teacher conferences are an integral part in your child’s educational development. The communication between teachers and parents is vital in getting students to reach their highest level. Keeping parents informed and involved in their child’s educational process is a priority at Scott City R-1. However, our fall conferences scheduled for October 29, are going to look a lot different from past conferences. We are going to limit the amount of people in our building in order to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We are encouraging conferences to be done through phone calls, emails, and Google Meets (similar to ZOOM). We do understand there may need to be an in-person meeting between the parent and teacher.

· At the Elementary Level—these conferences will be scheduled through the teacher

· At the Middle/High School Level—email with the teacher is preferred method of communication—if you feel a face-to-face conference is necessary, contact the building principal

If you are scheduled to meet with a teacher face-to-face, we are requiring you to wear a mask while you are in the building.

The first quarter ends October 23. Report cards will be emailed/mailed on October 26. Upon receiving report cards, email the teachers with your concerns or praises. Teachers will respond by the October 29 conference date for Middle/High school students.
